A friend and I were walking down the street when she stopped to get what looked like a kazoo from a street vendor. I asked her what it was, and she said she didn't know, but it was free so she wanted it. I thought it was a little silly but she's right. You can't argue with free, right?
I'm more into free stuff I can use. I mean, who knows? Her kazoo career could take off, but I'm guessing that novelty will end up in the trash or forgotten in some junk drawer.
Smith Micro and Manga Studio are giving away something that's free and useful: a webinar with Dave Gibbons, the creator of Watchmen and the artist for the cover of Batman Vs. Predator. (Do I need to stress that this guy rules? I didn't think so.)
Plus there is free stuff being given away at the free webinar: copies of Manga Studio EX and autographed printouts of Dave Gibbons' work! And you can get Manga Studio Debut for free when you sign up. Basically it's just a big giant pile of free. And your chances of a career with Manga Studio are probably far greater than with a kazoo. I'm just sayin'.
