Originally published in June 2016, this is another great example of the great tools available in Moho and how easy it is to get started. Okay, maybe 7 seconds is a little ambitious for a new user. But you get the idea! Happy animating!
The Curve Profile tool is a very powerful feature in Moho. It allows you to create and animate complex shapes rather quickly. You might be wondering when this tool comes in handy. Lets use a gear for example, let's say you have to draw a gear using the Curve Profile tool, in just 7 seconds!
0:00 Quickly look at the timeline to be sure you are in frame zero. If so, now select the Create Shape tool and draw a circle!
0:01 Create a new vector layer and name it whatever you'd like, for this example we'll name it “Curve-Profile-Target-Test-01”.
0:02-0:03 You have two seconds to do this, so you can relax a little. Select the add point tool and draw a four point line. Be sure that the first and the last point are at the same height.
0:04 You only have three more seconds! Now select the layer of the Circle and its points.
0:05 Next, select the Curve Profile tool and click over the four points line. You will now see the circle has modified its shape and it now looks more like a gear.
0:06 This is the last second! If you still think you can do it, go to the toolbar and set the number of teeth you want for the gear. Since you don’t have more than a few milliseconds, consider this tip: Instead of typing the numbers manually, use the mouse wheel or drag the right click of the pen to left or right to adjust the number of teeth.
0:07 OK, you did it! Phew! One last tip, you can modify and animate the curve profile in any way you want. So, if you have some more time, enjoy playing around with it!
